The Return of the Mask Teaser
OpinionThursday, February 7th, 2002 at 9:55pm by Mark, BZPower Reporter

Finally Behind the Mask returns. Way back when (in this January 6th article) I started an editorial called Behind the Mask. If you’re new, take a look at that one. If not, I have Issue two for you. Today we look at some of the first CGI (Computer Generated Images) from the Bohrok saga. They are all nice and good but one caught my eye.

    Behind the Mask

Look at Kopaka. He has a string that is holding Kohrak krana. This is strange. I’m almost positive that they are the Krana that inhabited the Bohrok that he has destroyed. I think when he carries them around it show his tribal instincts (I’m thinking of how some native tribesmen carried around shrunken heads of warriors they killed) and his modest way of saying he has killed lots of Bohrok.

    Now look at this picture:

    Lego Cargo

This is a small picture advertising the Kopaka Cargo merchandise Lego recently unveiled. Now look at his sword. He has a small white string tied around it. Some people have been speculating that Lego may begin to pack this string with Kopaka and that they would include instructions on how to attach it to him to hold Krana.

I doubt this. First, look at the string. In the CGI picture it’s brown and rope-like and in the Cargo picture it is white and rubber-like. Also, I think it would be strange if Lego started to include such a small part in a set that has been produced for a while now and is still in production. And thirdly, Lego has said that they will not alter the Toa but have hinted about producing infected Toa (as we have see with the Krana-ized Toa prototype pictures).

Now, it’s not hard to make. Just take a thin piece of string and tie it to Kopaka’s shield joint connector, hook it behind his shoulder and tie Krana to it. Also, people have been saying that the other Toa probably do this too. I doubt it. Kopaka has always had a different kind of pride that I don’t think the other Toa have to show. Kopaka seems much different from the Toa and I just feel like he would be the only one to do this. But as always with Lego, it’s up to you. So have fun! Now, to wrap up Issue two.

As I will always be doing, if I get an answer from Lego or an answer in unveiled to the questions in the pervious issue, I’ll tell you. Well, I got in contact with Lego and they have said that all of the Rahi still inhabit Mata Nui. Most aid the Toa and a few are still infected. The Manas however are not dead. They are a completely different breed. They are evil, I think. We might see them again, I don’t know… I hope we do.
