How do I display my Krana?
OpinionThursday, February 14th, 2002 at 2:34am by Mike E., KP Founder

Krana Packs That’s the very question I had when a parcel from LEGO appeared on my doorstep almost a week ago, as a postal van roared down the small country lane. Tucked inside the large cardboard box were bags and bags stuffed with Krana, in the same foil design as the European Masks.

The first thing that came to mind is the fact that the product came in a bag, while Krana in the US come in a box. Same as last year. This would only encourage more ripping off the bags in Europe, hence another sea of products for easy pickings by thieves and discounts for collectors. The main differences between each bag were 6 coloured eyes of the Toa/Bohrok, like last year’s Kanohi Packs 8525, and the new code of 8559 on the bags.

    Now onto the Krana Frame:

A simple and cheap solution to storing Krana would be to put them into a Bohrok case or on a large LEGO 48-stud square board, which would require extra LEGO parts. Or, like other Krana Collectors, put them on display among my Bionicle and LEGO collection.

So based on a Kanohi frame design from last year and a few Technic pieces lying in a box, work started. After a while a brain wave came to me when looking at a collection photo, which showed the very piece on a model, and is needed on the frame.

Lego Piece 6536 This simple Technic piece is in surplus supply at many Bricklink stores, the image above will take you to the direct listings of the part. At the end of a few test beams, a final go saw the first row of the stand completed. Basically I copied the same system, and repeated it 11 more times to form a ladder effect to produce the Krana Stand.

    Krana Rack

Krana Pile Fully portable and fixed, it even stands up on its two hind legs. I attached the main support struts on the edges so it won't topple over, as per the picture below. This is the result of 50 Krana packs purchased and a trade by a member on BZ Community who is also a staff member of MoD. The outcome: a pile of extra Krana destined for any future traders who can help me filling in my missing 7 spaces, or to be sold on Bricklink.

A construction picture for this neat little display will appear on KP shortly.
