Discuss This Story ReviewSunday, August 10th, 2014 at 2:36pm by Andrew, BZPower News Manager

Today it's time for another video review - this time I take a look at 41056 Heartlake News Van from the LEGO Friends lineup. This is my first Friends set, so if you'd like to see my reaction and thoughts on one of LEGO's latest hit themes, you should read on to watch it!

    Final Thoughts
Once it's all said and done, how does the set stack up? Should I get it?

    Pros
    What's to like?

    • Andrew Friends mini-doll!
    • Good variety of parts and colors
    • Lots of role-play opportunities
    • Solid construction
    • Variety of play features

    Cons
    What's not to like?

    • Exposed red and yellow pieces detract from color scheme
    • Satellite dish doesn't fold flat
    • Friends mini-dolls have a hard time sitting

I think the Heartlake News Van is a well-designed set that fits well in the Friends universe and successfully stays away from the 'it's Friends so it has to be girly' stereotype. I had fun building and playing with the set and think there's something in it for everyone, from the wide selection of pieces in nice colors to the hours of play it contains. I'm glad I picked it up, but since I fall more into the former category it will probably find itself in my parts bins in the near future.

Thanks everyone for watching, I hope you enjoyed the review! Your questions, comments, and feedback are always welcome in the Talkback. We've got more reviews coming soon, so keep checking back on BZPower for those and all the latest LEGO news!
