The latest comic (issue #6, Into the Nest) has advertisements in the center spread for the Exo-Toa and Bahrag sets. Behind the Exo are symbols, and there was speculation that these might form a new alphabet. A new image from the Bahrag instructions brings a new twist to the mystery.

    Exo Symbols
(Redrawn symbols - far right is speculative due to being obscured.)

We first saw six squarish symbols (above) faded behind the Exo-Toa, with no explanation. Perhaps, some people speculated, it was a new, straight-ruled type of alphabet used by Cahdok and Gahdok. Maybe they had to do with the Toa Nuva, or the Exo-Toa itself. Or the Bahrag twins.

3D Cube Now, with the release of the 8558 Cahdok and Gahdok set, a new cube image (right) has been included. These symbols are nearly the same as what's already been seen. Six sides to a cube, six symbols. Six symbols, six Exo-Toa?

Note: The main face of the 3D cube image does not exactly match any of the other six, but is close to the second from right (above). It will be interesting to see what the "official" symbol turns out to be.

What do the symbols stand for? It's a mystery, for now. But it seems apparent that there are only the six geometric symbols, which are not part of a larger alphabet. Whether they stand for Toa, Toa Nuva, Exo-Toa, Bohrok species, or something yet to be announced, we will certainly see these symbols more in the future.

(Thanks to Hiroki from BZCommunity for the 3D cube scan.)
