We continue our trip down through the Nine Circles of Hell with our Bio-Cup 2023 Round Two coverage. Today's subthemes feature Greed, Anger, and Heresy, with plenty of models to match. Read on to see them all.
Drathax the Covetous by Matt Goldberg Subtheme: Greed
Dragons can be quite greedy, can't they? There are a lot of creative designs here, from the rounded haunches to the flippers on the neck to the golden horns and elegant wings. It has a big gold horde too, although plenty of room for more.
Avarice Bos Taurus by Benjamin Anderson Subtheme: Greed
This is an interesting scene, and the two biped characters have a lot of visual flair to them. But that golden bull really steals the show with it's solid design and great pose. Exceptional stuff!
St. Splendor by VB Subtheme: Greed
This character has a great flow to his design, but the intricate details in the face and headdress are the most impressive.
Ninjago: Nya, Rage of the Sea by GK 733 Subtheme: Anger
More Ninjago! Nya is a great representation here, especially with the armor piece used as her face scarf. The dragon has a cool pose too and really utilizes those Jayco masks!
The Fallen Angel by pierthviv Subtheme: Anger
Somebody's been working out. The many small details here give him a very life-like appearance and work exceptionally well. The shaping and colors all look great, even down to his squinting eye. You don't want to tick him off.
The Inglorious by Bionic Supreme Subtheme: Heresy
This knight looks quite impressive and makes good use of the metallic elements. The visuals of him being tied to the cross help sell the theme.
Heaven Sings by Ben Subtheme: Heresy
This is what happens when you disobey the church, it seems. The characters are a bit fantastical but give a sense of power and emotion. I especially like the tears on the middle character.
The Forbidden Ceremony by Eero Okkonen Subtheme: Heresy
This scene is extremely impressive. First you have the cute Matoran characters, acting against the "Love isn't Canon" rule. But beyond them is the amazing scenery, from the wires on the trees to the amazing statue and the waterfall made of the Rahkshi backs. The closer you look at this, the more awesome details you find!
We've got a lot more MOCs to feature from the Bio-Cup Round Two, so make sure to stay tuned to BZPower to see more of them. Bio-Cup is again going strong this year, with lots of amazing creations. Which builder do you think will win this year?
