Let's complete our Bio-Cup 2023 Round One coverage by looking at MOCs from one of the most colorful subthemes, the Rainforest Biome. There were a lot of creative models, so read on to marvel at them all.
Ara Ararauna by Ron Folkers Subtheme: Rainforest
This parrot has excellent shaping and colors, making great use of the elements to show it off. So lifelike!
Zenithoptera by Dan V Subtheme: Rainforest
The blue Takadox pieces really look good on this dragonfly, and it's fitting that it goes after a flower that utilizes squids.
Rainforest Frog by Bean Bean Subtheme: Rainforest
This bright red frog is probably not one you want to touch. Among other bits, I like the Cordak missiles used in the fingers.
Chaac by Aiden.Builds Subtheme: Rainforest
It's always cool to see a Mesoamerican god creation here. The turquoise necklace helps sell the deity, and the storm cloud is great.
God of Death by Inferno Mocs Subtheme: Rainforest
More rainforest gods looking down on humanity. The gold elements really give him a fancy appearance, and the tiny pyramid is a fun addition.
On the Hunt by Woomy World Subtheme: Rainforest
This tree has an extremely good organic feel to it, and it fits well with the dino, who has a sleek design. Plus, the hidden frog is a cool parts usage.
Quetzalcoatl by Margit Subtheme: Rainforest
Another god appears! The Sky Serpent has some flashy colors and great textures, but the fancy pyramid with all the Bionicle elements really steals the show. Alas, in a direct competition, Quetzalcoatl beat out Chaac.
Reforestation by Gengo_Builds Subtheme: Rainforest
I like the theme of a force of nature replacing the city with trees. He has a spooky look from his beard to skeleton arms to antlers that reach into the clouds. But the fanciful city scape made using Bionicle elements really stands out the most.
Ancient Amazon by Matt Goldberg Subtheme: Rainforest
The colorful scenery here is top notch, making good use of repeated elements from the grass to the leaves and flower pedals. Great stuff.
That's it for our coverage of Bio-Cup Round One. Stay tuned to BZPower for the second round, which continued to have excellent models submitted. Bio-Cup is again going strong this year, with lots of amazing creations. Which builder do you think will win this year?
