    Bio-Cup 2023 Round One Part 3
Hot Bionicle NewsThursday, July 13th, 2023 at 4:54am by Jason, BZPower Reporter

Today we dive underwater for more Bio-Cup 2023 Round One coverage. There were two aquatic subthemes featuring Freshwater and Saltwater with plenty of fish and waves and coral to go around. Read on to check em out!

Dance of the Naiad by Ted Andes
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    Dance of the Naiad

This MOC has a lot of great motion in it. The dancing fairy makes a good use of the spinner piece as the dress, and the white and azure color scheme really works. Then the pieces in the background portraying motion really add to it.

The Fish Fly Fisherman by Renzari Kenjo
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    THE FISH FLY FISHERMAN

This is a fun twist on fly fishermen. I like how the fish is neatly fitted into overalls. The green swords mixed in with the trans blue pieces does work for the scenery too.

    There's Always a Bigger Duck by Nuhvok_Mok
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    "There's always a bigger duck"

That's a big goose, and the feathers are nicely done. He certainly outshines the tiny frog, no matter how cute his battle axe is.

    Nymphaea by Alex_Mocs
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    Nymphaea

The feminine silhouette that blooms into a flower is very creative, and the underwater foliage helps set the scene. Creative.

    Dreadnewt by VB
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    Dreadnewt

This one is suitably creepy, with a lot of plant elements used to make seaweed and the bubbles / eggs floating upward. The creature's teeth really sell the mood.

Spirit of the Falls by J6Crash
    Subtheme: Freshwater

    Spirit of the Falls

This scene is brilliant, with the stylish fox who's tail transforms into the waterfall. I think the best part is the mask pieces incorporated into the landscape. (But that fox face is also great.)

A Sea of Colors by Dylan Mievis
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    A Sea of Colors

This diver has found a colorful patch of coral. There are a lot of wonderful designs, from the Nuva mask clamshell to the scuba suit and the various sea anemones. Very nice.

Aquanaut Crystal Crustacean by Will Hafner
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Crystal Crab

This Aquanaut themed crab is ready for some ocean exploration, with drills and harpoon guns and laser claws. The Galidor limbs work well here.

    Aquashark Infiltrator by _Monopoly_
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Aquashark Infiltrator

Better watch out, because this Aquashark is hiding beneath the waves. The repeated elements give it some nice texture, and the trans neon orange really fits the color scheme.

    Odium by Vlad V
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Odium

The round flowing parts on this bright creature look great, taking a more pastel color scheme than we usually get with Bionicle builds. I especially like the use of the kraata and monster head to form the face.

Don Quixote, El Caballero Andante by Mohamed Marei
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Don Quixote, El Caballero Andante

This sea horse and jellyfish combo have excellent builds to them, complete with some fun coral designs for the sea floor. Not only that, but the sea horse is adequately armed for underwater combat too.

    Hang Ten Cetacean by Djokson
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Hang Ten Cetacean

Surf's up. This Orca has a solid build, and the Scala shorts and sunglasses really top it off. Not to mention that the stickers on the surfboard are a great match.

    Ocean Explorer by Sharreek
    Subtheme: Saltwater

    Ocean Explorer

This diving suit is very intricate for it's size, and makes good use of the gold pieces to form a very solid build. The helmet is especially well done.

We've got a lot more MOCs to feature from the Bio-Cup Round One, so make sure to stay tuned to BZPower to see more of them. Bio-Cup is again going strong this year, with lots of amazing creations. Which builder do you think will win this year?
