It's time to return to featuring Bio-Cup 2023 MOCs, and now we've made it up to Round One. The theme of the round was Biomes, so let's start off by checking in on the MOCs with the subtheme of Mountains.
Chilren of the Mountain by MySnailEatsPizza Subtheme: Mountains
This is a great scene, from the character designs to the force perspective landscape builds. The deer has a cool design, but the texture of the leaf cape is the best.
Thunderbird by mSquid Subtheme: Mountains
This is a brightly colored bird. The many feathers on the wings give it a realistic look, and the red and blue shapes look great.
Fan Tian's Pilgrims by Ryan Z Subtheme: Mountains
The stone titan's look really does have the appearance of a mountain getting up and walking around. The use of the canister lid is especially impressive. The small guy has a fun look too.
Encounter in Norway, Circa 1019 AD by Pierthviv Subtheme: Mountains
This bear has some incredible detail going for it, especially for all the various pieces that make up its fur. It's hard to say what the best part usage is, from the red cape in the mouth to the Nuva masks or the repeated ridged connectors along the neck. It's all very impressive.
Detour by Tino Poutiainen Subtheme: Mountains
The repeated use of the gears on the antlers is what stands out the most, but both designs have a cool tall but narrow look to them that flows really well.
Hall of the Mountain King by Panuvara Subtheme: Mountains
There are a lot of great concepts in this scene. From the snake hair to the heart leaking blood to the stylized background, this is particularly neat.
Hyperion Drake by Calcifer_Project Subtheme: Mountains
This is a flashy dragon, with some colors that really pop. The repeated teal elements give it some great texture, and the use of the lime wing pieces contrasts nicely.
Sentai Mountain by PaulvilleMOCs Subtheme: Mountains
This design may be simpler than most, but it expertly captures the look of the Exo-Force mountain settings. The colors and shaping are very well done here.
We've got a lot more MOCs to feature from the Bio-Cup Round One, so make sure to stay tuned to BZPower to see more of them. Bio-Cup is again going strong this year, with lots of amazing creations. Which builder do you think will win this year?
