    Bio-Cup 2023 Preliminary Round Part 5
Hot Bionicle NewsMonday, June 26th, 2023 at 1:54am by Jason, BZPower Reporter

More Bio-Cup 2023 Preliminary Round coverage? Don't mind if I do! Pop Culture is filled with plenty of takes of good vs evil, so there are a lot of villainous examples to use, from Disney movies to Saturday morning cartoons and beyond. Builders have created some very iconic villains, so read on to check them all out.

    Oni Lloyd by Woomy World

    Oni Lloyd

We don't often see Ninjago themed entries, so this is a treat. The Oni himself has some very striking design choices, from the chest to the hair. But the fabulous designs of the golden weapons are my favorite parts.

    Omnidroid by Aiden Builds

    Omnidroid

Recreating this classic Incredibles enemy must've been quite the challenge, as it was mostly circular with tube arms. But the shapes managed to be pulled off here and it's instantly recognizable. Impressive.

100 More to Go by DanielBrickSon

    100 more to go...

Cruella is instantly recognizable here, and the shells flow so well that they do look quite a lot like a fur coat. The body is simple but effective, and that face works too.

    Systeminator by Tino Poutiainen

    Systeminator

I'm not very familiar with the show, and yet Perry the Platypus is immediately recognizable. The two characters are well done, and the giant zany blaster has a lot of lovely details to it. (Plus gears, it obviously needs gears.)

Season Four - Episode Thirteen: "Face Off" by pierthviv

Season Four - Episode Thirteen: "Face Off"

The intricate designs to show the fine details of the face (and to a lesser extent, the hand) are very well done. Not to mention a great use of an Inika mask.

    Zim by _Monopoly_

    Zim

Zim is immediately recognizable too, with the colors and shapes contrasting very well to make this character. The Galidor pieces used to make the body and one of the eyes is clever, and the socket pieces as the teeth work well.

    The Penguin by Panuvara

    The Penguin

I like this take on the classic Penguin villain. The torso and the head are great shapes for the bird, and the purple umbrella and pant legs sell the character type.

    Reminiscent of by Student Scissors

    Reminiscent Of

Alas, I don't recognize the character, but I can recognize that he has character, so that counts, right? Like the sleek build of the legs, and the use of the triangle tiles on the face is great.

Demon Bull King by Just Torp

    Demon Bull King

The Demon Bull King looks intimidating with his axe, and the clever robe ending with the Chewbacca panels is cool. Although I think the mini monkey designs are my favorites here.

(XJ9) Jenny vs Vexus by gk733

    (XJ9) Jenny vs Vexus

More cartoon characters made into MOCs. They both have solid color schemes and poses that evoke the battle. The tower in the background is a nice touch.

We've got a lot more MOCs to feature from the Bio-Cup Preliminary Round, so make sure to stay tuned to BZPower to see more of them. Bio-Cup is again going strong this year, with lots of amazing creations. Which builder do you think will win this year?
