Day 28: PITtober 2022 Collab

PITtober returns in 2022 to showcase a bunch of undersea creatures that would've fit in with the underwater 2007 Mahri Nui theme. This year's collection of sea life are very bizarre and potentially nightmare inducing... but it's okay because they're all extinct, or so we hope. Read on to see the models from this collab.
Pterygotor by VelociJACKtor
Inspired by the eurypterid sea scorpion of prehistoric time, this guy has some lanky limbs and scary claws. The sparse dark red highlights work with the grays, and I like the circular saw built into the torso. Although I think the most impressive technical design are those feet.
Ophabiniak Lurker of the depths by Braylon Turner
Inspired by another extinct creature, the Ophabinia, this one makes use of repeated elements to give off an interesting texture on the back. And the front trunk / mouth is more than a little creepy too.
Notilak by Sandro Quattrini
We've seen a fair amount of Ammonite-like Bionicle creations before, but this one still brings something new to the table with it's shell designs. I especially like the dark tan wing elements used next to the eyes, and the mechanical tentacles wrapping around the big weapon shows that this mollusc is menacing.
Marr the Splendid by Nuhvok_mok
Inspired by the Marrella splendens, this one has picked up a squid gatling gun to protect its undersea territories. The organic shapes of the sand green head stand out nicely.
Helikor by Student Scissors
Inspired by the Helicoprion sharks that had buzz saws built into their mouths, this creature has also developed some claws and teeth to go along with the blade. The color scheme is quite striking, with the contrasting black and white separated nicely by the trans blue.
Karrix the Strange by The Underscored Double
Inspired by the Anomalocaris, another ancient arthropod, this guy has some spindly limbs that come together with the very striking blue fins along its body. The front arms in particular do have an interesting design.
Nui Caulox by Aiden.Builds
Finally, we have one inspired by the amphibious Diplocaulus. The color scheme again has a great flow to it with the dark blue, tan underbelly, and blue spine highlights. Some interesting curves are achieved on the body, but the head built using the Ben 10 wing piece is the most impressive part. All month long, I'll continue to feature great MOCs from the BZPower Flickr page. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more amazing creations!
