Day 12: MOCist Feature - Alex Mertens
BZPowerMonday, December 12th, 2022 at 2:05am by Jason, BZPower Reporter

Today, we're going to feature some MOCs from Alex Mertens. This year, they have recreated a lot of classic Bionicle characters in really creative ways. Read on to see their models of Vakama Hordika, Roodaka, and a variation of Lariska.

    Vakama Hordika by Alex Mertens

    Vakama Hordika

This mutated Vakama looks a lot more dragon-esque than the original set, with a lot of great dark red parts used on him. While he mostly has a solid organic feel, the right arm does remind us that he has some technology still incorporated in.

Roodaka: Viceroy of the Horde by Alex Mertens

    Roodaka: Viceroy of the Horde

This variation of Roodaka looks quite regal with the black outfit with subtle blue highlights (and a few flashes of gold mixed in.) I like the style of the hair here, and the pose is very intimidating and shows that she's really in charge here.

    Lariska by Alex Mertens

    Lariska

Originally built for the Lariska contest, this is a colorful variation of the Dark Hunter, which pops nicely with the teal and trans pink elements. The head is very clever, and her robotic arm does stand out, although her legs are quite a bit different from what we usually see in the theme. (Not to mention the helmets used on the hips are quite clever.)

All month long, I'll continue to feature great MOCs from the BZPower Flickr page. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for more amazing creations!
