The end has come to Bio-Cup 2022, and ironically that was also the theme for the Finals Round. The finalists have been judged and the winner selected, so read on to check out the MOCs. Plus, see some of the other award winners from the previous rounds for Most Entertaining NPU, Most Creative, Best Mask Use, and Best In Show.

Third Place: Task Management by Ivan Martynov
    Subtheme: The End

    Task Management

A clever concept to use monsters to represent computer problems. The hero with the fancy Xs built in has a neat design, and the monster is suitably alien, in a way that wouldn't have looked out of place in the Kaiju contest, but the fact that its popping out of a computer window really sells the idea.

Second Place: To Be Continued by Nikita Nikolsky
    Subtheme: The End

    To be continued...

This comic book character is very expressive, with some very clear color blocking and a great action pose. The many mini models (like the fly and pencils) are great, and the pink mouth of the frog works great to sell it as a monster.

    First Place: Carcinisation by buttloaf_builds
    Subtheme: The End

    Carcinisation

This is based on the concept that in the end, evolution always results in a crab body. This guy is a bit more futuristic than your standard crab, with a nice transition between the smooth panels and greebly mechanics of the legs. But that face is the most interesting part of the design for sure. Very worthy as the winner!

Most Entertaining NPU: IX - The Hermit by Ted Andes

    IX - The Hermit.

The key feature here is the backwards Gorzan gorilla head used as a hood on the figure. It works out remarkably well.

Most Creative: Vessel of the Interdimensional Innards, Formerly a Common Frog by pierthviv

Vessel of the Interdimensional Innards, formerly a common frog

There is a lot of great design features in this, making it a very impressive idea that turned out great. (Well, unless that many guts makes you feel squeamish.)

Best Mask Use: Fire Flower by Tris Caulfield

    Fire Flower

I've always found the Nuva masks very hard to use, but they make great flowers here.

Best In Show: Avian Bonsai by Woomy World

    Avian Bonsai

It was only from the Preliminary round, but this bird was such a fantastic design from the head to the feathers to the flowing tree limbs that it's great to see it get more recognition.

And that is it from Bio-Cup 2022. It has been amazing to see all the cool MOCs that got submitted, showing that the community is still building strong even all these years later. Can't wait until next year to see what the contest will get people to build next.
