Today we've got an intriguing announcement from The LEGO Group and Universal Music Group: LEGO VIDIYO. Coming March 1st, the platform consists of an app and new sets, the latter of which include collectible BeatBits. These 2x2 tiles seem like they will function similarly to the shields in Nexo Knights, allowing you to scan them in the app, which you can then use to create music videos with snippets from Universal's extensive music catalog. The BeatBits add different effects, dance moves, and more to make each video unique and your own. The two companies are stressing that the social sharing aspects of the app will be safe, with all content being moderated before it goes public. To learn more, read the full press release and watch the announcement video. I'm curious to see how this latest blending of physical and digital play goes for LEGO.
