Day 07 - The Seven, a Samurai Collab
BZPowerMonday, December 7th, 2020 at 2:59am by Jason, BZPower Reporter

2020 has been a hectic year in many ways, but we've seen some great Bionicle creations pop up, despite the theme being long since retired. From Bio Cup to the Canon Contests, there's been some great MOCs out there, and now we're looking to share a few more. And so we're going to try something a little different this month; instead of featuring images from a LEGO Advent calendar, we're instead going to feature Bionicle MOCs from this year. I spent some time browsing through the BZPower Flickr page and handpicked some of my favorite builds, and I'll be posting one a day for 24 days straight!

Earlier this year, seven builders each created their own Samurai MOC in the collab The Seven, created by the builders JakTheMad, _CZQ_, Sparks, Brick_Diamonds, optimus-convoy, and Djokson. Each of these Samurai have pretty cool designs but stand out in their own ways. Read on to see all of em!

    The Seven: Shimada by JakTheMad

    The Seven: Shimada

Shimada has some fancy armor made using sand green pieces, with some clever angles used. However, the detailed helmet and face is what really sells it as fierce.

    The Seven: Katayama by _CZQ_

    The Seven: Katayama

Katayama has a sleek, dark blue look, and cleverly some of the chainmail is made from tread pieces. I do like the Nokama Hordika helmets on the thighs.

    The Seven: Kikuchiyo by Sparks

    The Seven: Kikuchiyo

Kikuchiyo's eyes make him look a bit crazy, and the nice usage of bulky red CCBS armor mixed with the tan capes is risky but works out. The Ninjago sail as a flag is great, but the red skirt armor is my favorite design here.

    The Seven: Kyuzo by Brick_Diamonds

    The Seven: Kyuzo

Kyuzo looks a bit off with the use of the Agori mask, but I do appreciate the clever addition of the minifig visor piece used as a jaw. The "floating" discs behind him are also neat.

    The Seven: Hayashida by JakTheMad

    The Seven: Hayashida

Hayashida makes some good use of capes and sails to fill out his torso in a satisfying way. The face is still quite expressive, and I also like the giant sword.

    The Seven: Okamoto by optimus-convoy

    The Seven: Okamoto

Okamoto has some very impressive dark red armor designs that really flow quite well, but my favorite addition is the Hannah crab piece used on the helmet. Some nice parts usage to get a very detailed face too.

    The Seven: Shichiroji by Djokson

    The Seven: Shichiroji

Shichiroji doesn't appear to be the most intimidating of the bunch, but he's got some great designs that offer a good organic look for him. The highlights are his wide face, the belt, and the massive mace weapon he carries. Very cool!

Stay tuned for more cool Bionicle MOCs as the month continues!
